so I have my first actual doctors appointment when I'm 15 weeks 2 days. I'm currently 14 weeks 4 days. my mom said it'll probably just be questions and a Pap smear. but my grandmother told me after you're so far along they can't do that to me. I've looked into it online but didn't really find anything. says they do it in your first appointment but day different for second trimester appointments. and ideas on what is actually gonna happen?
I didn't have a pap only bc I ever had one within the last 3 years (new guidelines instead of yearly). I answered questions, peed in cup, had blood draw, listened for heartbeat and had a cervical exam. I also had an ultrasound only bc we couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler.
the only time they do paps for under 21 is for pregnancy. I got a pap done at my 1st appt at 6 weeks, along with blood work and urine test and lots of questions.
They dont do a pap the first app, and if you are younger than 21 they probably wont do one at all.. They are just going to take urine, ask questions, and measure your belly, and possibly a pelvic exam. Then they will probably schedule your ultrasound for your next app.
I'm 19 my first appointment I had a papsmear, lots of blood work and a sonogram
@mamaofangelbaby0610, that's strange they do usually do paps I would have definitely requested one
different doctor do different things a ultrasound probably will be done along with a pap I had mine done at I think 16 weeks
how old are you? if you're under 21 they don't usually do a pap unless your genetically at risk for something.
like your mom said a pap l,listen to heart beat, measure you ask questions and then schedule you for a ultrasound
*I've already
