I never woke up my son to feed he was on demand when he wanted it, there it appeared. I never put him on a schedule either because that never worked for us.

well with my kids I did things this way: as long as its during the day, sure go ahead and wake them. but during the night let them sleep and pump instead. u want ur baby to sleep at night so if u constantly are waking them thru the night they won't sleep and will be cranky. with all three of them I did this and it worked for me. as of now my newborn wakes up maybe twice maybe. find a schedule that fits for you.

lol it depends for me. if i do let her sleep I will pump in place of the missed feeding so my supply won't dwindle. so no matter what either I'm pumping for or directly feeding her at that 2 or 3 hr mark

I fed him when he woke up, but wouldn't let him go past 4 hours because he's a preemie. But I'm sure the same idea could apply for term babies.

So I’m getting mixed answers on this topic.. I learned at a baby class I took at the hospital that you need to get up and feed your baby every 2 1/2-3 hours. If they’re asleep you should wake them and feed them.. then I’ve heard from other people the exact opposite.. that you should sleep when they sleep and wake up to feed when they wake up. What are you opinions on either option?
