Omg I had such a rough day yesterday. I'm not much of a sharer, but I have to know if I'm the only person in the world that feels so royally screwed by our new healthcare system! My husband and I started trying last February to conceive after waiting 9 YEARS until we felt financially ready and stable in our marriage to have another child. I found out in August while checking to make sure my health insurance covered maternity, that it had been cancelled July 1 due to the Affordable Care Act and that I needed a new policy. The only problem was: the lowest costing plan was 3 times the price of my old one! I spent some weeks fretting over what to do, found out I was pregnant, (yay great timing!), and began preparing for our out of state move for hubs' job in October, knowing I had 60 days to make a decision. So I chose a plan in Kentucky because the 60 days ended before the move (gggrrrr) and went to a doctor at the end of September. We moved, the policy didn't work out of state so I had to cancel and had to wait til open enrollment to get a new one because we were so broke from the move. So here I am, 24 weeks, have not been to the doctor in 14 weeks or so, because we make too much money to get a subsidy or free healthcare, but not enough to afford an extra car payment, which is what it would cost to get lousy insurance that won't pay any of my damn medical bills 😡. I feel backed into a corner, MAD, helpless. Is anyone else having this issue!??
