for me I got to choose between an orange flavor or hawiann punch! I choose the red one! I drank it, tasted horrible! lol but I had to stay there for an hr, until they did my blood work. which my baby boy was very very active and I felt very sugary! it basically tests your sugar level and determines diabetes! but I got to watch a video about the ups and downs of the epidural!!
here at my doctors, I had to wait 3 days for my results! but they would have just had me do the test again.. which prolly would have been the same length in time. and idk if I would have liked the orange one! lol but that's your choice. I know they have a purple one also..
ohhh I had the three hour. it was absolutely terrible.you have to drink 120 grams of sugar in under 5 mins. the site there for three hours getting blood drawn every hour. it makes you feel horrible after.
I had the one hour test and what they did was have me fast the morning of because my appointment was so early (like 8 something am) and I went in, they gave me a choice between this orange and lemonlime flavored sugary drink and had me drink it in under 5 minutes. Waited an hour then took my blood and tested it. Idk about how others do it, but I got my results at my next OB appointment.
it is pretty gross btw. I've had bad morning sickness this pregnancy and I ended up puking after they took my blood. strongly recommend eating afterwards so you don't have a belly full of sugar.
ugh this is my next apt. they already gave me the orange drink..they told me to drink it 30min before my apt..write my time down when i drink it and finish..they they are gonna take my blood. i heard it's pretty nasty and not to eat sugary or carbs before or you may throw up. my doctor suggested to just eat eggs but no toast. I'm nervous because i have a weak stomach and I can't stay the 3hrs if i throw up.

They'll give you an extended test, I passed mine so I only had to wait 45 min
