I have a question. my daughter is 5 weeks old today. She is exclusively a breast fed baby. She latches well and sometimes I pump and do bottles, but I can never do more then getting a meal ahead. she will sometimes eat a whole 5-6 ounces at a time. Usually she only eats about 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours. How would I get ahead enough to pump a few bottles so that me and my fiancé could have a date night. I've tried mothers milk tea and it helps a little but not enough. An also do you think she eats to much? I feed her on demand, and if she wants 5 or 6 ounces I give it to her.
@santistevanmommie, @snowflake1993 thanks for the advice :)
@mommabear15, I didn't know that. Thanks for the advice! :)
Are you pace feeding when giving her bottles? If not that's why she is eating so much. Breast milk is much lighter so it's harder for them to tell their stomach is full. When on the breast they naturally take small breaks due to the work it takes and you have to try to mimic this with a bottle and "switch sides" just like you would on the breast and burp every ounce
Don't always choose that one every feeding you should switch boobs. Also only do both during a feeding if it seems she's hungry after pretty much emptied one
I take the fenugreek pills they work great I started 1 in the am and 1 in pm you can take up to 4 tablets a day
My advice: pump after each feeding. Don't let her have what you.just pumped. I take fenugreek and blessed thistle.
Just switch each time. Don't always pump or let her eat off the one that has more. The other one will catch up. I always let her eat off the one that produces less then she switched over when empty. Now both produce about the same amount.

I do tend to favor my left boob. which does always have more when I pump.
If she only eats on one boob. pump on the other while she eats. them pump on the one she ate off after she's done
It might be that way for the first couple of times but it'll start to boost your supply so that each time you pump you'll get some. Also do you feed her on each boob during the feeding?
What if nothing is coming out when I pump after I feed her?
What you have to do is pump right after you feed her, then you have the choice to either safe what you pumped or give her that, but pumping after every feeding or even every other feeding will help to be able to not only produce more (which means pumping out more) but safe some because you can feed her with a bottle every other feeding. And when you bottle feed her you should try to pump while she's being fed
She will eat and say if my breast start to feel full on the 3rd hour after i feed her and she isn't hungry yet....I'll pump. she will usually eat that bottle within 30 minutes after I pump it.
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

My August baby decided she wanted to be a May baby like her big sister. Madison Noelle was born on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:50pm, weighing 2lbs, 13oz and 14". She was born at 27 weeks and has a long road ahead of her. Every day she has been getting stronger and amazing everyone. Please keep us in your prayers, my family and I have a long road ahead of us. Congratulations to everyone and I wish you all wonderful pregnancies and deliveries! ??❤️
I was going to do strictly breastfeeding but I'm going to actually do breastfeeding and pumping (bottle) because if not than she'll be hooked and will want my breast only and wouldn't work if she is left with her dad or something lol..
Anyone else doing both???
I feel like my baby isn't eating much I'll fix her a 7oz bottle in the morning and throughout the day I'll fix her 5oz but lately she hasn't been eating but 2oz out of them and I have no idea what to do I don't want her losing weight what do I do she is about to be 5 months on the 21st plz help
How Much is Enough for My 3weeks Old?
|BREASTMILK/PUMPED/BOTTLE FED|
From the Time of Being Discharged from the Hospital and around week 1 1/2 She Started at 2oz and Gradually On To 3oz .. She Still Act Hungry So I Tried 3.5oz. and now She’s Currently Drinking 4oz 😳
Sometimes She Still Signals That Shes Hungry !
Is this normal ?? I don’t want to make here obese by letting her continue to eat/drink but I don’t want her to not get enough either
Let baby eat on one side and pump on the other. That's how I built my supply. 😊😊
