mommies who cloth diaper do you sometimes notice a pee smell even after you change the diaper?

@queeneden, on the baby. like after I wiped her yesterday. Changed the inside liner. Put her clothes back on. I end up giving her a bath bc she smelled like pee. so maybe I just didn't wipe her right. The smell goes away fine after a bath and washing all her diapers

hmm. what wipes do you use? maybe they just arent doing the job good enough.

@damiensmommy2015, I wipe her every time. Just sometimes the wipes won't take away the smell

my wash routine is run through once on cold with no soap then run through again on hot with arm&hammer; detergent and then one rinse cycle again in cold water. you could make your own wipes with paper towels and coconut oil and baby soap. thats what I do. but yeah if I dont wipe him and just put a clean diaper on him I still smell pee cause its still on him.

@damiensmommy2015, maybe I'm not cleaning her right then? The smell comes out in the washer just not when I change the inside and wipe her down with wipes. Maybe I just need to use soap and a cloth

im not sure what you mean. I cloth diaper. as long as your diapers are washed well you shouldnt have a pee smell on clean diapers. if thats the case you can do a strip to get the ammonia smell out.
