the only real reason to not do it, is if you wanna do cord blood banking. although doing cord blood banking would be beneficial since I have an autoimmune disease, I can't afford it. so if I'm not banking it might as well let the baby have their blood lol.
@jgarciamua, It's only suppose to be like 5 min lol how are you gonna still have the baby attached to you and the placenta for a week haha . It's only until the cord sends all the blood to the baby!
I meant to say the placenta attached to baby only..ive seen a documentary a women has it attached to her baby for like 5 days soooo yea haha obviously not from the mom bc it comes out @snicole12
@chasinghappiness, The baby will have all its blood volume it can lose up to 32% with cutting the cord right away, Babies can also develop jaundice and all you can google it or YouTube videos . I prefer my baby to have all its blood to minimize complications with her .
@jgarciamua, I've never heard of that 😳 Yeah no I wouldn't do that the placenta stops pumping blood and nutrients after it comes out the body and the cord stops pulsing .
@chasinghappiness, I'm also requesting to keep my placenta to have it encapsulated! & yes do, there's a lot doctors don't tell you that you have the right to do
@chasinghappiness, Haha so some moms eat their placenta gross I know lol but instead I'm gonna have it turn into capsules so I can just take them as pills and the nutrients in your placenta can help you with postpartum like having the baby blues, it can help you be energized and also can help and up your milk supply I just see it as my own personal prenatal pills for after birth to help me get energized and get nutrients since the baby sucked all the nutrients from you which is why a lot of women lose a ton of hair after birth and with the placenta pills it can help with that !
@chasinghappiness, You're welcome we all need some info! Haha my husband thinks I'm crazy taking my placenta in pills but after I read to him about the benefits he's okay now lol

@crunchymomma, Yeah cord banking is way expensive I'd rather have my baby gets its all blood rather than get sick and have to stay in the hospital
