My baby is a little over a week old & formula fed, he hasn't pooped since Sunday. He's peeing normally and is passing gas just nothing's coming out. What should I do

@lucassmommy, an ounce of water should be just fine. Sometimes babies who are formula fed get constipation because of all the iron and a little bit of water should help break it down. No worries momma he will be just fine.
@chibibunnyx Ok. I heard one of the craziest stories about a woman giving her baby water that made me really think and scared. Glad your baby is fine. My son is 6 months old and has never had water yet.
when my daughter had an ultrasound done on her for her reflux, they gave her 4 ounces of water to see how her stomach was doing. They said it's normal for them to have some water, it'll just give them the runs since it goes right through them. it's just not recommended because babies need to gain weight. a little bit is just fine ☺ @junesmommy15
@mommaeva Heard of that. Just got through doing that with my son yesterday. @chibibunnyx Yeah I've heard of it flushing foods down but not for a week old.

My daughter had the same problem. what I did was massage her feet and it made her go almost every time.
He told you to give your week old water? That's new. Did he tell you how much?
Doctor just called and told me to give him water between bottles @junesmommy15
try a q tip with Vaseline. If that doesn't work he probably doesn't have to go.

There's nothing wrong with being sure. That's our job as mothers.
it's usually normal. but try lifting his little legs up and down see if it helps him pass gas or poop.

As long as he's passing gas there isn't a blockage .
the wet diapers is a good sign. sometimes they have their days when they don't go poop. but since he's still young ask his doc. maybe he needs some help to poop
