*Question*
When your baby is born and it comes to putting the baby's last name and you do know who the father is, do you HAVE to put his last name? or can you just put yours and NOT his
Maiden or Married?? Which name do you honestly like better, your maiden last name or your married last name (assuming you changed it)?

Okay that's good I live in Texas and he lives in Wisconsin so I hope everything is the same... I don't want child support or anything from him so that's okay with me.

the father doesnt have to be present, just a court ordered DNA test.

in the state of Tennessee he can only be put on the birth certificate if he is present at the time of birth even if your married. only if hubby is deployed he can be absent. And just cuz he is on it doesn't give him any rights or visitation unless a judge orders it. so again you don't have to put him on it if you don't want to.

you can know who the father is. but he doesn't have to be on the birth certificate. but I do believe if he is not, that hes not obligated to pay for child support or anything else. opposed to if he's on the birth certificate he'd have to pay child support (don't hold me to that I might be wrong)

Of course not. They want you to put the father down but there's nothing they can do to you if you don't. But you can't go after him for child support or anything if he's on on the birth certificate

I know who their dad is. and I refuse to put him on it. he has to take me to court to be put on it

I won't get in any trouble for knowing who the dad is and not putting it? everyone keeps telling me I could probably get in trouble for knowing who it is and not putting him on there

My boys have my last name. He isn't even on their birth certificates either.

No you do not have to put the fathers name for any reason. You can be married to the father and put your maiden name. Or you can be married to a guy that's NOT the father and put his name. It's your kid sweetie. Put whatever you want.

You can put whatever last name you want baby doesn't have to have the fathers and if you don't want to you don't even have to.put him.on the birth certificate
