So I have a question. My baby's dad has completely ignored me my whole pregnancy and also sent me a message saying " it's not mine" and she IS his. 110%. Anyways I've decided I DONT want him in her life at all. I would rather do it all myself and not have a piece of shit in her life. Can the court MAKE me let them do a DNA test? Or is it up to me? Do I HAVE to let them if he requests it? Because I don't want him in her life so I don't want any proof that she is his.

If it were me.. I would find someone to pass the msg.. You won't go after any child support and he never has to hear from you again and never even have to worry about being called the baby's daddy if he just signs this one piece of paper. But you will have to worry about the future if he doesn't because down the road people are going to be in his ear about this and may convince him to act on his rights to see his baby. And I promise, make no mistake.. he will be granted visitation at the very least.

My big concern is he's a pos and I do not want him to get any rights to her. That's all I'm worried about. I wonder if since he has ignored me my whole pregnancy if I can hold that against him? I have a screen shot of where he wrote me back and said "it's not mine"

I would trust me but he won't even talk to me! Every time I try to talk to him he blocks me on Facebook. And I dont have his number :/ I know where he lives but I don't wanna just go over there cause we ended things on bad terms ON HIS PART.. He cheated on me and I left his ass. @luvmybump

I would have him sign away his rights now while he's sweating balls that he's going to have to pay child support. It will be his incentive to sign. And Then you have nothing to worry about down the road.

If he wanted a DNA test HE would have to pay for it right? Not the court? @thehowtohippie

Yeah he's pretty immature I really don't think he will want anything to do with her but the way his mom is she may force him to Try to get visits. But I hope not. If he was here with me thru my pregnancy it would be different but I haven't heard a word from him this whole time except when he wrote me and said "it's not mine" and blocked me. That was on Facebook. I don't even have his number anymore..:/ @katrina12143

Filing for custody, going to court ect. It costs a lot of money to do these things. It's not something you do "just cause" he might very well go to file to basically get back at you and turn around and say fuck it after seeing what it might cost him just to file for custody. He has no right until paternity is established which by the LAW is if his name is on the certificate or after a test is done.

if he wants custody the first thing they'll do is make him take a DNA test. if it's court ordered there's nothing you can do. you can always strip him of his parental rights by proving he's the father (which also requires a DNA test) then proving he's unfit. honestly it sounds like he don't want anything to do with her anyways so if I was you I'd cut my ties. don't text, call, or communicate with him. just drop him like a bad habit and move on. I wouldn't get all worked up and worried about it until something happens.

Basically how a court order works is the law is forcing you to comply with the order the LAST thing you want to do is to go against that order by not complying. That puts you then into contempt of court which is grounds for arrest, you can go to jail (unless you have priors that won't hold you but you will get booked) in that time she will be given to child service or next of kin (like your parents or something) and in that time they will also do the rest anyways.

Oh no no I'm not putting his name on the birth certificate lol. He hasn't even talked to me this whole time and I'm 23 weeks. He's a piece of shit. I just wish I wouldn't have told him now because I don't want him to have any rights to her but I really don't know if he would even try to get any because he's immature and irresponsible and won't wanna pay child support. @thehowtohippie

Yes you can be forced to do so via a court order. If you sue for child support and he contests it. If you don't want money they best steps are do not put his name on the birth certificate. Give the child your last name. Don't take him to court. If he sues for shared custody he'll be required to take a DNA test to prove his rights. If you put his name on the certificate you're automatically giving him paternal rights to the child. If he sues for shared custody sue, sue him right back for child support.

So if he wants custody he can? Cause I don't want him to have any rights to her. So I don't want to let him do a DNA test at all. I'm her mother shouldn't that be up to me ? ;/ @katrina12143

in my state i believe if its court ordered you have no choice. but i also know that in my state you can not take away a parents parental rights unless they sign something stating they want nothing to do with the child or you prove them unfit and unstable

unless you want child support or he wants custody he can't make you take a DNA test.
