Why do people keep wanting to use castor oil to induce labor? Yes, some women say they've used it…

I don't see how they do it. That stuff taste awful even when you're not pregnant

I tried it twice with my first, but I still try to talk people out of using it. It's a laxative, I mean chugging that while pregnant is just not a good combo. Thank goodness nothing happened to me or my child, but my friend ended up severely dehydrated and ended up having a c-section. That could have easily happened to me. I don't think people realize how harmful it can be.

I'll go 42 weeks if I have 2. I want my daughter to come when she is ready. 8 weeks away from 40 weeks and Im sure she'll be here before my due date or right on time but Im not pushing for any sooner.

I was just thinking this. If I had heard ANY horror story of almost losing a baby because of something that you purposely do, I wouldn't even entertain the idea. I get wanting to induce labor, but at least do it in safe ways.

At the end of my pregnancy I was willing to do anything to get labor started, I was definitely not taking castor oil. My mom wanted me to take it but I've read so many negative results with castor oil, no thanks 😬

my midwife had me take it with my first child I was a week over due, only went to the bathroom. don't do it.
