most doctors won't let you go up to 42 weeks for health risks for you and baby so I woukd think so.

my dr will let me go as long as 41wks 5 days unless there is a problem with me or baby. they only induce if baby doesn't come on its own by then.

No, you have to have a medical reason from your dr and an appt with the hospital. and due dates aren't accurate all the time, usually they could be off by up to 4 weeks.... that's why it's okay for baby to come between 38 and 42 weeks.

if you go 2-3 weeks past your due date, he's gonna have to induce you at some point if your baby doesn't come on its own.

I was induced because my dr was going on vacation.. i wouldnt have known unless i had asked about it. but it worked out fine. my daughter is a happy healthy 2yr old. I guess that was reason enough for him.. I didnt want any other dr delivering my baby.
