@meadraven Awww... she is so cute. I agree with @winterbaby95 She's still a puppy so she can definitely learn. She does seem to have been thoroughly spoiled by your relative. It's gonna take time, effort, patience and a stern hand to train her but I'm sure your efforts will pay out. She is gorgeous and I'm sure you'd regret giving her away if you didn't at least give her your best shot first.

Awe she's still a baby! she will learn eventually hun xD Just have to be strict with her! and let her know she can't get away with things your relative use to let her get away with :) They do learn quickly though xD They are clever animals xD Would love to see a pic of her! love pugs!! 😍😍😍 If you can afford/have the time.. maybe take her to doggie training classes? xD xxx Don't give up on her :) I promise she will get better...sounds to me like she has anxiety and has been spoiled a bit too much lol! @meadraven xx

she howls when I leave her alone for even just a quick few minutes in the bathroom then gets destructive when I come back to her. I inherited her as my relative moved away and I'm the only one she speaks to so she gave me her dog and and some other things.

the dog is only 6 months so I was expecting a tough time but she's been babied since she was born so she is completely wild and had never even been on a leash before!

I have had dogs in the past and I've trained puppies but this one is something else!!

Lol @winterbaby95 I know where you were going with the second dog idea but I don't think it's a good idea right now. If @meadraven is having such a rough time with one it'll definitely be worse with two especially since she'd have to gradually introduce them to each other to avoid a bad situation. Dogs are competitive and they'll get jealous of each other at least until they like each and establish a hierarchy. plus you defo don't want two dogs marking territory everywhere! 🙈

I have to ask, how did you 'inherit' the dog? Animals also grow attachments to people. The howling could be that she's missing her previous owner. If she's had major change in her life it's actually pretty natural for her to take time to settle. She's probably marking territory and she needs affection and reassurance from you. I doubt she's feeling much stable right now. Do some research online Re settling in a new dog. I did a quick search and found loads of information. Try some things and if it doesn't work I think going to your vets is a good idea. ☝ this is all assuming you wanna try making it work with the dog first. Only you know if it's too much for you to handle right now and if that's the case I think you know what you need to do. Give her away. at the end of the day it might be best for you both. BTW, what's her name. I feel bad just referring to her as 'dog' all the way through .

Could be that she seeks dog company :) maybe getting another pug to keep her company? (sounds a bit much I know) You could also talk to a vet about her behaviour. They may suggest something Xx

Is she spayed by any chance? Neutering/Spaying a dog/cat can change their behaviour(for the better) Xx

Believe it or not...dogs get anxiety just like humans do. My aunties dog whimpers/cries if she leaves the house without him. Maybe have her in the same room as you? How old is she? Tell her in a firm voice no when/if she starts shredding and chewing things( also put her outside, my mum does this to my cat when he does something naughty...his behaviour changed a bit after he got hit by a car...not sure why...but he started scratching the carpets which he had never done before...and we have had him from a kitten, he's now 2 years old) It may be an attention seeking thing :) She probably also senses that you are pregnant and may feel anxious because of this. Was she trained before you got her? I know it is stressful but maybe try out the things I suggested and see how it goes. @meadraven Xx

she's destructive and hasn't let me or my partner sleep because of howling since we got her I feel so sick. she wees on the sofa despite going out in the yard, having regular walks and has toilet mats down... she shreds things and chews I literally can't leave her for 2 minutes :( @winterbaby95

nope .. not the best time @meadraven I dont mind having a pet either but consider being pregnant and working also is way too much. Gove yourself sometime. pet responsibility is more than a baby's one my opinion though XxxX
