Dont worry its not bad i mean they grow out of it fast as long as you know the carseat hasnt been in any car accidents or damaged its okkk.. Plus shes family so you shouldnt worry(:

@yanira8, is right. as long as the car seat hasn't been in an accident you're fine. I have a 2nd hand car seat too.

I just received a used car seat from my sister in law. She's family and I'm forever grateful. Don't be ashamed. Your blessed

nope no accidents at all.. it's always cleaned we live in the same house...so I know it's in great condition... has all the pieces my nephew is 15 months old and has a bigger seat so it's not used

you shouldn't be ashamed of urself just because it's heavy down ect just wash it is recieved alot of used and new stuff I would be happy if family helped cause less $$$ to spend

If it's not expired, has never been in an accident, isn't missing any essential parts & you trust your baby's life in your sis in laws hands then I would say it's fine...as long as the seats history is clear of damage :) though a new car seat would be ideal, a used carseat is better than no car seat- Walmart has the scenera next convertible car seats for $45 you could always get if you're still doubting using the one from your SIL

I'm not doubting hers @paisleysmama0216 we just have no money income is very low for us but I'll definitely look into that seat...

There's nothing wrong with using used items. It doesnt make you a bad mom or any less of a mother than anyone else. Just wash them and you'll be good to go. Make sure the car seat isn't expired too. Baby items are very expensive. I'm using used stuff that I had for my son for my daughter that's 2 years old and also using some hand me downs. I'm happy to have whatever I get from friends or family that I can use.

If you trust your SIL & the seat then I wouldn't stress about it- I used my nieces old car seat with my daughter thank goodness because she outgrew it in 6 months! & remember that you cannot wash the straps because it weakens the fibers however you can always order new ones from the manufacturer for cheap & no aftermarket inserts or covers :)
