I've been breastfeeding for 2 weeks now and my nipples are really sore. I've been using coconut oil but that isn't helping. what can i do? because the first minute of feeding my son is so painful 😥😥
I really would avoid a shield because it can complicate things. Use nipple cream and warm wash cloth before and after feed. You sorta have to just get through it but promise it gets better and it is enjoyable! Proper latch it key and I realize we got lazy for a bit and I started to get more pain.
It's a yeast infection your baby can get in their mouth and give it to you if you look inside your babies mouth and see any white bumps. my daughter had it on the roof of her mouth and I didn't see it at first. but if you have it your nipples get red can bleed crack and be painful to nurse.
I used the shield at first too it worked really well. It helped her learn to latch better. They just told me to not use it to long term it could interfere with milk production cause of less simulation. But Just make sure it is not hurting from thrush we just went through that and I didn't know till she started refusing to eat.
get a nipple shield, they're available at most walmarts, it's a silicone piece that goes over your nipple and you can nurse with it..... that's what I've been using when mine get super sore!
