What's your guys opinions on using a reg OB to give birth or a midwife? Or those that have used a midwife why did you? I'm trying to figure out which one is the best fit for us:)! Thanks ladies!!
yeah, the way the others felt about obs is how I felt about my midwives . they were bossy, didn't give a @#% , and seemed un- knowledgeable
@mylittleprincess, thanks for your side! I know whoever I feel most comfortable with I'll go with no matter what their qualifications are.
@olivergrayson_may16, I figured I'd comment since I feel opposite of everyone else. I had a couple midwives. and I HATED all of them. they were terrible. I have a male ob now and he's amazing. and never rushes or any of that. and he does family medicine so hell be my daughters pedi too!
my point is everyone has different experiences and do whatever fits for you. and if you aren't 100% comfortable , switch to another midwife or ob.
@net dmamatn, congrats on a smooth birth! So exciting for you:). Hope you're enjoying every second! @kmally @momagainjj82 it's nice to know how you used both and both agree on a midwife. I've read exactly what you two said about how they seem more attentive and give a personal touch. I also like the fact that they seem to spend more time with you which makes you feel more comfortable and cared for. I think I'm going the route of midwife for those reasons. Thanks ladies. Just what I wanted to hear:)
I'm using my OB because he's been my doctor for years and I feel comfortable with him and have a great relationship. The practice is a mix of doctors and midwives and I'll most likely have one of the midwives for my delivery.
Midwife for more natural ways. My next pregnancy I want a midwife. I went all natural with my son and want to do it again with our last. Midwives are more pronatural labor while doctors are quick to medication. That's what I think personally.
I second. my first was with an ob and I even went to her mostly for my second. however, I felt she was dismissing my wishes and was brushing me off. I switched to a birthing center and midwives at 38 weeks, gave birth on Tuesday and it was absolutely everything I wanted :)
I had an ob for my first and have been seeing midwives this time around. A world of difference. I don't feel rushed in and out, I feel like they remember me and details of my pregnancy, and they are much more natural minded which I love.
It's good to know both sides @mylittleprincess I'm going to meet my OB Tuesday and the midwife as well and see who makes me feel more comfortable
