When would everyone say is the earliest to start to lose your mucus plug? How do you know that's what it is?

I went to the ob office first for an US..... They checked my cervix and it was short so off to the hospital I went

I lost mine today at 28 weeks :/ went into preterm labor..... On a mag Drip now

it looks like boogers that's how you know lol I'm not sure when the earliest you can lose it though. some ladies never lose it so if you don't lose it don't panic
