Just shaved and trimmed my dads dog. She looks a lot better. She's got some flees so does anybody know anything that can kill them? Not in the furniture just on her. She's got sensitive skin and dries easy. If it helps she's a Yorkie if that counts lol mom has tried almost everything even stuff a vet has recommended.

The only good flea collar is called seresto I believe, although that could also be the name of the pill. Can you do dawn dish soap baths then rub her with some coconut oil after? Coconut oil will also help with the fur if you feed some to her daily as well. Do they have carpet? Really to get rid of fleas you have to treat animals carpet furniture and your yard. Diatomaceous earth is good for those.

Frontline plus or advantix are topical meds that you use monthly. Give a flea bath prior to using meds. Even though you think they aren't in the house they are so you need to get rid of them from their as well or meds on your dog to kill those will not help

There's also capstar but you get that at a vet. The other meds you can buy at petsmart

Don't do advantix, advantage is safe. Advantix killed our cats and when researching the ingredient that kills small animals like cats also kills dogs. Even if used on a large dog, if the large dog rolls on the carpet and a cat or small dog lay on the same carpet, it can kill them. The company told us it was our fault because we didn't know that, but it's not well known. Just be careful.

Natural food stores have a cedar spray which instantly kills the fleas and doesn't dry out the dogs skin and is safe to use around babies.

Definitely never go with hartz or however you spell the Walmart/winndixie brand, the topical stuff causes rashes and even boils animals skin, and the collars cause irritation and hair loss and even raw skin, their products are known for killing animals too

Use Dawn dish soap! the blue one! it works WONDERS and is super sensitive for dogs.
