People keep asking me if I gave birth already and I keep saying NO. Also my parents and husband get questions like this too, so I'm stressing out about it as well.. I feel like a complete failure.. 😣 all those questions sounds like it's my fault that baby isn't here yet.
stacy! I am SO SO SO SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!! YOU DID IT!!! :) :) :) a lot of times, things don't go as planned but you've just accomplished the hardest most rewarding process any human being could ever set out to do! You're an amazing momma! regardless of what you think; ***YOU'RE ONE TOUGH COOKIE!*** Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! 8 H O U R S of L A B O R :-O. Please Don't worry about all that water retention, it'll come right off. Hollywood over glams the whole "bounce back" the second baby is born. Aw, girl I wish I could hug ya and show you what a great job you've done. Congrats to you, your hubs and your sweet precious miracle. :) :) :)
@mommaz, he's here.. Labor was so intense. I'm still really sore and tired, have stitches and catheter in my bladder because my perineum is so swollen that I cant pee and have a huge water retention :( I was in labor since 4 am on Sunday, I went to hospital and was 4 cm dilated at 4 pm.. I was breathing, walking, taking bath, using fitness ball up to midnight(8 hours) , I didn't make a sound, I was only breathing and when I got checked I was still 4 cm :( I was exhausted and contractions got so intense I was screaming and shaking so terribly.. My obgyn didn't get there for some reason and she usually help all of her patients.. I didn't get any help from personal, only got checked which each time gave my terrible contractions.. I also had to keep myself from pushing, which gave me extra work.. It was hard to relax and not to push. I wanted to push since 7 pm..I gave up since dilation didn't progress and at 1.30-2 got epidural because I was desperate .. It didn't help right away and when contractions got easier I still had a terrible urge to push and I had to do everything not to push.. right after epidural i started dilating and I started pushing at 3.15.. by 3.35 I had my baby. I'm really upset, I though I'll be able to do it, I though I'm strong enough.
@aj1115, thank you! I really do feel better now, I was so stressed about that. You girls really made my day 🌺
@mommaz, wow, thank you so much! I was so scared to be induced.. You really just made me feel so much better! :)) I'll do everything I can. I don't want iv too and I'm going to have only my husband in the room.. You're awesome :)🌺
You CAN still have a natural birth with Pitocin don't stress it momma. Your way more prepared then i was and i did you can too! Just know that every contraction means baby is coming down. And breathe through it thats number 1. Plus if you need to squeeze your hubbys hand you SQUEEZE that hand ! Lol i did get pain meds that go through the iv though but literally only lasted 10 minutes then it was gone but it doesn't take the contractions away just softs them up. & if you want to scream you go ahead and scream
yup! I knew it, you'll be awesome! :) look at you, you're more prepared than most. that's so sweet of your ob to offer the tub! seriously. tub. life saver for me.
I'd say, the biggest thing to remember; our bodies were created to have these precious babies. recognize every contraction as a step forward in the process. don't get hung up on all the negative stories :)
listen.to.your.body.
you can make this as empowering and positive as you'd like :) :) :)
support wise; make sure hubby has energy-nutrient dense snacks. it'll be as emotionally exhausting for him as it is for you. teach him and anyone else on your birth team techniques that will help you; pressure points, counter pressure, help you dance and sway -these helped during transition, etc. most of all make sure your support team is supportive of the natural birth or don't have them in the room. (I had to ask my mom and sister to leave because the kept begging me to get an epidural)
fun tips: you don't HAVE to birth in a hospital gown if you'd like you can take something you're comfortable in. I wore an old summer dress.
You CAN deny an iv. lol I wish I would have known that one, they pumped me with 5 iv bags while I waited to be induced *smh* 4 stretch marks went to... way more than I wanted lol I exploded from the swelling and I also didn't have a problem drinking 2-3 gallons of water every day of that pregnancy.
sorry for the novel!
@mommaz, well, I've read some books(Inna May's guide to childbirth, mindful birthing and 3-4 about birth in general) learned some breathing techniques, made a lot of notes for my husband in case I'll forget and won't be able to think clearly, also my obgyn promised me hot tub for labor. Wow, you're good. I've heard so many awful stories about birth so I'm prepared for worse scenario. I don't know anyone who gave birth without epidural, except my mom. Do you have any suggestions how to go through it without pain killers?
hey, I was induced straight pitocin, no pain killers. how have you prepared for all natural? I bet you'll be amazing :)
@mommaz, well, that what I though before I reached 41 weeks and my obgyn started taking about induction.. I'm terrified about induction, because I want to go all natural with no pain killers and it'll be hard to do with pitocin
I know that, but the thing that 40+ weeks is considered overdue and that doctors start freaking out is kind of annoying .. Also it's ridiculous, since 40 weeks are counted from the first day of last period. Everybody has different length of cycle and period and babied are conceived at different time. Still they make women feel like they do something wrong .. I understand this but still feel really bad..
@mommaz, thank you so much for your kind words :) I do feel much better now and don't really think that I did something wrong. ❤️he's here, this all that matters
