I personally don't think they are painful if that's what your afraid of. I had it done with my last pregnancy and it sure helped me dilate, it's more just uncomfortable, just like when ur doc/midwife gives u a pap. And if ur worried about maybe cramps after that's all part of labor 😜 good luck!!
