I need your girls advice about my babygirl. so. my mom took her to the doc to see about her tongue and they said reason why she making that clicking sound and not breastfeeding because she can't latch on and she can't hold her pacifier in her mouth its called tongue tied. have any of you guys went through this with your child?
well if she's a preemie than that is a problem.. my son is a preemie and he would not latch on, at all.. the doctors looked at him told me he was tongue tied and that I should get him a little cut under his tongue. I was scared of that so I was bottle feeding him with my breast milk. only sleeping for hour and half, tiring but worth it because I waited a couple months and tried it again he latched on perfectly. I was so happy! I think he just didn't grow enough to latch on, since he was a preemie.. but if you get the cut under the tongue for her, the doctor said it will hurt for a bit, but you must breast feed her right after the incision so it can heal right away..
I had that problem too as a baby. My mom waited till I was I think 1 or 2 before getting it done and she said I screamed. It's probably best to do while they are really little like yours.
She came back all happy and able to eat right away after she was only two days old so they will probably have to do more for the pain since yours is older
@laylaopal, did it hurt her and was she in pain after? my daughter is only 2 months and half
My daughter was born tongue tied but they noticed it right away and she got her tongue clipped before we even left the hospital literally only took 5 minutes
Not for my child, but a little girl I knew plus a family member had it as a child, and they just got it clipped, or cut.
My husband had it actually, a pediactric dentist can cut it and sometimes her pediatrician will... It heals itself after being cut but its worth it if you want to continue to nurse
OK. thank you@atreegrowth317
