I thought I'll ask you guys instead. Due to having breast cancer 2 years ago had to get a double mastectomy so when it comes to talking about breastfeeding I don't dwell on the convo because it makes me emotional. well my neighbor was breastfeeding and so before she stopped she asked did I want her to breastfeed my baby when he comes. I felt offended because that's a bond between mom and child. she doesn't pump so that means she would want my child her breast. she got mad because I said no. so was I wrong?
I think she was wrong for getting mad that you said no but I also think you were wrong for getting offended. It's a beautiful gift and if I couldn't breastfeed id want more than anything for somebody to offer that to me.
why would she get mad though? you are not wrong...it is your baby and your choice...i hate it when people get mad at you when you make a choice for YOUR baby like if you are obligated to do as they say
you're definitely not wrong if it made u uncomfortable. i agree breastfeeding is a super personal choice and action. but not breastfeeding doesn't make anyone less of a mother or selfish. I wouldn't feel comfortable with my child nursing at another women's breast, for the simple fact that's my child and I don't want someone else having or sharing that bond and for health reasons. although I do know my great-grandfather had a wet-nurse because his mother dies when he was a baby. Again it's all a personal choice and I think it was a bit bold of her to ask such a question being your neighbor.
she may have just been trying to help, but she could have been more sensitive. I grew up Amish, when my mom got really sick, women from the church took turns nursing my baby brother. different scenario, but thought it may help. @jdeshazor
absolutely not. it is a personal choice and you are right that is a bond between mother and child
no do what makes 69th comfortable babe... #FUCKcancer
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
@bria.k, yeah its a beautiful gift breastfeeding a child but its a bond between mother and child I don't want to have to knock on her door every two hours for my child to nurse. I want to hold my child and feed him myself not watch someone else do it
