Question mommies! I've heard that being induced makes labor/contractions 10x worse, is this true? I'm trying to have my son without an epidural but now my doctor is saying I might have to be induced so now I'm extra worried about the pain.

Watch The Business of Being Born on netflix! it explains how pitocin works and how it can affect you and baby.

yes it can make labour pains worse. is your dr giving you a reason to be induced? so many drs these days push for induction or cesarean section and I'm just over here like "whatever happened to birth happening naturally?" eesh.

Following this for sure because I'm wanting to do 100% natural then being told the drugs are going to harm my son((he has a genetic disorder called Trismoy 18)) and now my ob is testing me for preeclampsia and if I have it I think they will induce me and I have heard being induced is the worst because it's painful. And it's just more drugs. So I'm right with yea on unknowning what to do and being scared @recklessmom54

If you have to have pitocin, then yes. It will make your contractions more painful and closer together.

I have heard that induction brings the contractions on faster so you don't get a chance to get used to the pain
