My baby is not here yet, but i am wondering ive never breastfed my other 2 and so i would like to know how would i know that baby is full and when to take her off the boob? & also am i supposed to like put her on one boob feed her for 10 mins then put her on the other boob for 10 mins or something? i dont want to have engorged boobs it hurts so much TIA
my left breast made more milk than my right. so by the time my right breast was full I either pumped it out or gave my left breast a break. that was about 2 to 3 times a day everyone is different
I totally was you lol! I get it. It was so confusing at first. My advice is to feed on one boob until they are done. They are done when they fall asleep or pop off. I try to see if he takes it when he pops off just in case. I use an app called baby feed that tracks my feedings, diaper changing, and sleep. So if I didn't feed for at least 15 min on that boob, I feed on that side the next feeding, then switch(it works for me). If he's been on the other boob for awhile(longer than 20 mins) sometimes I switch. You will get the hang of it. He eats different amounts of time. Also, it is highly advised to wait until 6 weeks to pump to regulate your supply. If you don't you could risk over supply and that will give you clogged ducts(hurts like hell) or mastitis! If you do get engorged because you couldn't feed in time, hand express until you feel better and nurse. You can also massage in a shower. I have so many tips from a Facebook group I joined. You can message me anytime! It's a journey but so worth it!
oh okay thank you so as long as i just use both boobs couple times a day i should be good right lol and of course ill be pumping so that way i can save some for when i go out or something n dont wanna whip the boob out lol @latia0321
It's my first time breastfeeding my son .. I never did with my daughter but really u will know lol.. But just feed on demand that means feed when the baby is hungry ( of course look for hungry cues) u don't really have to be specific with time limit. Like for me, I will feed him on one breast for so long .. Sometimes I'll switch the other side if it's too englorgrd or if he wants other boob. But I look at this way as long as I use both boobs few times a day! No stress over time limit! That works with me! Sometimes if my boobs are too enlorged n baby is sleeping I'll dream feed him which is feeding him while he asleep then pump the other one
@smc0911 my baby was a slow eater as a newborn so I was able to feed her on both sides. And you won't feel engorged until your milk comes in a few days after your baby is born. I have only felt it a few times and I just would wake baby and make her eat to relieve the pressure! But it's only been when she sleeps 4-5 hours. 😊
I am no expert but from my experience baby will pop off and sleep when finished! That's what my girl does. I do 20 min on each side IF I feel like my boobs may explode, otherwise I just do one boob and the next feeding I'll do the opposite one. Good luck!
