Okay I breast feed Lynlee & sometimes it's like she gets too much at once, and she does this gasping for air/choking sound and it scares me to death. I grab her up and start patting her back and I just cry because of how scared I get... Any other breast feeding mom's ever experience this???

sounds like you have a fast let down. next time she does that lean back they say it helps with the flow of your let down.

Well I'm definitely engorged & I even have lumps because I'm backed up... I was gonna wait till she was a month to get a pump, but I may not have a choice. I may have to go ahead and get one. @wgitney @steph11

hand express! have you looked into your insurance to get a free pump. if you pump before 6 weeks you'll create a over supply and probably end up with mastitis

@steph11, so it's better to not pump?

technically no. it tells your body to make more milk where hand expressing doesn't stimulate you like that. but if you have clogs you need to get them out before it turns in to mastitis it takes 6 weeks for your supply to regulate

It's terrifying when it happens. Try to pump a little before or hand express. Your let down is in full effect because your milk just came in.
