Why is it bad for the baby?

You'll get a rhogam shot when your about 28 weeks and if they baby has positive blood type you will get one after the birth as well. However if you start bleeding before 28 weeks you will get the shot earlier. Don't worry it's really a very common thing.

That's so long to wait 28 weeks my friend lost her baby earlier than that when they didn't give her the shot I don't think that should wait till I start bleeding @soontobemomof5

@babygurl, I'm on my 6th pregnancy but 5th baby and I'm RH negative besides the one miscarriage that happened before 10 weeks I've never had a problem. Two of my little ones even have the opposite blood type as me and their pregnancies went fine. They test your blood in the beginning of your pregnancy for anti bodies and if anything were to show up they would have sent you to a high risk Dr. They will check your blood for anti bodies again right before you get the shot just to make sure that nothing has changed and then you get the shot. Don't stress yourself out, I know it's hard sometimes but I promise it really is very common and the Dr's know what to look for.

@babygurl, Your welcome :) I remember when I first found all of this out and I was stressed for weeks thinking something would happen to my sweet baby but she's a perfectly healthy hormonal 13 year old lol.
