My daughter is breast fed and a month old is it okay to start giving her a bottle? I only want to do it when I'm in public or my SO wants to feed her. Will she get nipple confusion?
I tried at 4 weeks and my daughter will not take a bottle what's so ever or a pacifier at 3 months I started introducing a sippy cup it's a mix of bottle and sippy she does okay with it but at 5 months I've never been away from her so I don't know what she'll do without me
I can only speak from my own experience. I do the same thing if I am out of my house I bottle feed and I have done that since he was born he didn't get confused on the breast he looked kinda funny when he got the bottle but he got it pretty good but you kinda won't know until you try and see how your baby takes it
I just had this conversation with my lactation consultant and she told me that six weeks was a good time to start with the bottles if I was going to give any. Now, I have gave my son a few bottles here and there before 6 weeks. But I also made sure I had the right kind of nipple that way he had to work almost as hard to get the milk out of the bottle just like the boobie. Personally I've tried tommy tippey and avant but I like latch munchkins the best. Since I time his feeding this one took the longest for him to finish. Hope this helps, good luck.
