How affective is breastfeeding as birth control? I'm strictly breastfeeding.
I've been told it's not affective at all and I've been told it's completely affective.
I can't get on birth control until end of November. So we're looking into what we can do now that isn't condoms.

Um everyone is different. You may very likely get pregnant while breastfeeding. I know plenty of people who have. Use condoms or get ready for 2 under 2

I went 14 months breastfeeding without getting pregnant. Periods didn't start back up until 10 months pp and they were irregular so I only had 2 before I got pregnant. Everyone is different it might work it might not

my doctor told me that it depends on the kind of birth control. if it has estrogen it will dry up your milk. basically you have three birth control options with breast feeding, one is a pill that loses its effectiveness after a few month, then there is the mirena and the paraguard. the mirena has progesterone in it and the paraguard has no hormones at all. I'm going with the paraguard

wait I think I read that wrong. I've mostly been hearing that breastfeeding increases your fertility and your periods return a lot later than those who bottle feed so if you do get pregnant you may not know right away because of the lack of periods.

I exclusively breastfed my son, and was on no birth control whatsoever. My husband and I had unprotected sex once a day at the least and I did not get pregnant right away nor did I have periods. I got pregnant again when my son was 8 months old. According to research breastfeeding can be used as a birth control method but it's usually only good for the first six months. Which is probably why I got pregnant again after eight months lol. Can't you guys just use condoms til November tho? Or the pull out method? I mean if you're waiting til 6 weeks PP to have sex then November won't be that far away so condoms may be a good idea or pulling out. I have 2 kids under the age of 1.5 and let me tell ya girl...it's HARD! Lol. Worth it but hard.

I got pregnant while breastfeeding with my second and third. My first two are 15 months apart and my second & third are 13 months apart. I've got 3 under 2 1/2!!
