Mamas I need your advice!!
My daughter will be two weeks old on Friday.. Since she was born she was on the ready to feed similac because that's what the hospital provided and also said she should be on it for at least her first week. Yesterday we got our wic formula, the same kind just powder. I gave her it this morning around 6ish and she absolutely hated it. Threw it up within an hour. The second bottle she had she didn't throw up. Now I gave her a third bottle which she threw up. Any ideas of what's going on?! I feel horrible she keeps getting sick. She has an appointment Friday so I can talk to the dr then

@mumof2, yeah that's why I don't like wic here but formula is expensive. I thought she would be okay since it was the same brand but I'm hoping she will either be okay with it or they can change it for her because I don't want her to keep throwing up

but maybe try mixing it with some u buy your self to make it spread. pre make in a container for the day :-)

Yeah I know what you mean but on the military base I'm on they only give you the can powder. I have the liquid formula but I bought it myself before we got wic. I only know you need a prescription from the dr because I've had friends tell me that's how it works here. Otherwise you buy other formula yourself and not through them @mumof2

no my son got it without a prescription. thats how i know. im saying this because i got it in liquid form it comes in cans

@mumof2 I can probably get it but I have to have my daughters dr write a prescription. That's the only way you can get any other kind besides what they give you.

wow r u sure id give them a call just to make sure. ask them can the switch powder formula to cans of liquid.

Yeah they only give you one kind here @mumof2 it sucks because she was perfectly fine on the other stuff but I can't get that through wic

@queeneden, I do burp her during her feelings and sometimes she doesn't burp. She did the same though with the ready to feed similac. I feed her the same amount as I was before. She doesn't really spit up much but this is definitely throwing up. I've changed her outfit twice today because it was everywhere. @mumof2 I can't get different formula for her unless the dr prescribes it. Idk why but that's how it works on the base I'm at

Also, her stomach is still super tiny so make sure she isn't eating too much.

try to have them switch to liquid. she probably doesnt like consistency. they have liquid made for wic too

The consistency could be different. Are you burping her during the feeding? It's normal for babies to spit up. If she doesn't seem uncomfortable, she may just need to be propped up more while she's eating and burped more often.
