Why is everyone so ANTI being induced?? Like I see it all the time on here everyone tries not to be…

I got induced no pitocin.. I see. nothing wrong with it! better then waiting and my baby being to big to deliver vaginally or something...

If you do not use Pitocin then what is it that they use? I just would not want to be induced bc I would like my body to do it naturally.

I can't speak for other people but I really feel like it can cause more complications and fetal distress if your body isn't ready. It can increase your likely hood of a c section and it's just better imo to wait it out. Not always, but that's how I feel about it.

I'd prefer not to be induced, just because of some of the things I've seen/read, but if you know what works for you who cares! I'd never give another mother negativity for her choice.

I'm a FTM, I don't want to be induced because I'd like to go naturally, but if not, I just don't want pitocin. If you want to be induced more power to you, that's your choice and no one should say anything about it

For me personally, I have two older boys that were born completely natural. They came on their own, when they were ready and no pain meds or any interventions. My oldest was born on his due date and my youngest was three weeks late. With this pregnancy my doctor will not allow me to go over two weeks late. If my third son, which I am carrying now, doesn't come on his own they are inducing me Saturday. I feel as though it forces your body into something it hasn't quite prepared for entirely. Unless there is a medical concern, I don't understand why being induced has become second nature. Again this is just me personally. I have delivered one exactly on time so to speak, and one extremely past due. Both are teenagers and never had any problems.

I was induced with pitocin and my placenta ruptured (talk about tons of blood and humongous clots) and my baby came out with fluid in his lungs because of how fast he came. He spent some time in the NICU and having to leave the hospital without my baby was the worst time in my life. I will never do it again.

@ajm326, There are other options..in my situation all they did was break my water..too see how much I'd progress and depending on that they'd do pitocin but they never used pitocin because I didn't want them to and they didn't need to anyways because my body started progressing!

@vinnysmomma, Exactly I just feel like if my doctor didn't think it was a good idea then he wouldn't let me do it..

I think its either: 1. You were induced and had a bad experience 2. You are a ftm and afraid of stories you heard.

I was induced and the contractions were super painful and coming too close togethee, they had to slow them down twice. My blood sugars also went really low and I ended up with bells palsy from the stress of being induced. I hope to have a natural birth this time around.

I wanna do a natural birth.. Vaginal. If they have to induce by drug, I'm scared I wouldn't make it through without crying for an epidural and I really want to experience child birth. But I feel like that's different than breaking your water. I would do that, my mom had it done almost all her kids and we came right out.

I got induced with my first baby at 41w1day and labor/contractions were pretty hard on my daughter so she ended up in the NICU. I wouldn't ever talk down to someone who's being induced or has been induced but I feel like your body knows best when baby is ready to come, not a doctor (unless there's medical issue if course) I also want to be able to experience going into labor naturally this time.

I am overweight and slight high blood pressure plus I live 2 hours away from the hospital, plus I'm not really progressing at all I'm only 50% effaced and only a fingertip (on the outer part) dilated, so they scheduled me for an induction on my due date. I'd prefer to be induced, I would love to go in to labor naturally, but with everyone not being close to where I live it makes it easier to be induced so my family can be there. I don't think people should be negative towards it. I'm pro choice! Do what you do! Do you for you, lol
