Hi Preggies,
Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. Long time Preggiemom @tater4414 has been in the hospital for five days going in and out of silent labor. She's 5cm and 100% effaced, but her daughter is only 33 to 34 weeks along. Her baby is going to be a preemie and will have to be in the NICU for some time.
@tater4414 would really appreciate any advice from moms who have gone through something like this. She's a first time mom with no experience with preemies. Please message her or leave a comment here.
Thank you!

Sending prayers to @tater4414 I have to preemie babies. A 26 week preemie who is 2 years old now and a 31/32 week preemie who is 3 months old. Hang in there, it is hard being a preemie mommy but there are lots of support, especially on Facebook. I am in good supportive groups on there. Stay strong mama, your precious baby is going to need you. NICU life is a roller coaster
My son was born at 29 weeks (he's 3 weeks old now). Let me knowing you need any help or advice. It's scary but the nicu staff are there to help the baby and take care of you both. Best of luck mama! Thing will work out!
If you need to talk let me know , my son was born August 6th 2015 at 32 weeks gestation he was 3lbs 7 oz and. 15 3/4 inches long we spent 45 days in the NICU and have been home since September 20th now ! He's growing great and healthy as can be !! It's and emotional roller coaster ride but hang in there @tater4414
@tater4414, my youngest daughter was born 33 weeks and 2 days early by csection. 5lb 9oz looked like a skinny bird. she was in nicu for a week. now she is my first 11 yr old terror. lol best wishes to you and baby
Everything will work out for the best 💕 @tater4414
everything is going to be alright, soon you'll have your little at home: D May God bless your family.
Sending thoughts and prayers your way @tater4414
@tater4414, my son was born at 34 weeks and 5 days and he was 5lbs and 12 oz and spent 5 days in NICU
@tater4414,
I was a preemie twin as well as @marinesrodeo9394
me and my sister were born at 24 weeks I weighed 1 lb 9.2 oz my sister weighed 1 lb 13 oz
we were in the nicu for 3 months and got out on our scheduled due date. we did have some breathing problems but that's not uncommon in preemies. I had to have surgery at 3 months old (what I'm told) for my head, my soft spot grew over to fast and caused my head to grow kind of funny shaped but they fixed it and I'm 100% fine now, no learning difficulties of any kind and I can walk talk and am just fine. looking at me you wouldn't even know I was born early. I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant with my little miracle so if you ever need to talk or have any questions just message me I'll answer as best as I can and be there for you through anything. congratulations by the way!
@tater4414, I understabd and can sympathize with your fear, and you have every reason to feel afraid. HOWEVER, I had my son at 33 weeks, and he was born able to breathe on his own, with no complications, and was able to go home with me when I left the hospital. God is good, and prayer can work some pretty powerful miracles. I am sending up prayers for you and your little one, and also, for the knowledge and good judgment of the medical staff involved. Don't get discouraged or lose hope or faith!
My mom had me in 1990 at 26 weeks born at 1lbs 13 ounces... Don't get discouraged love I've lived a life of 25years nothing but health and happiness @tater4414
not exactly an answer to your questions...but don't Google anything!! just ask the doctors and nurses!! the internet will leave you thinking the worst!! I did this when they told me alex failed his hearing test and I was convinced he was deaf! I can happily say the next morning he passed with flying colors! @tater4414
my fiance was a preemie...10 weeks early! his mom shared with me about how she stayed positive and tried to never think the worst...Andy was in the nicu for a little over a month. I asked her what advice she could/would give you and she said never give up and make sure to have a support system in place...and ask questions about everything they do why are you? what does this do? does she really need this? don't be afraid to ask anything...you want to be informed!! love ya @tater4414 sending love, hugs and positive vibes from both alex and I... if you have questions don't hesitate to message me...and I'll ask my mother in law.
My son was born around 31 weeks and was on a ventilator for only 3 days and he did great just had to stay in the nicu for a month to work on the whole eating and swallowing I was not able to nurse him so I just pumped he is a healthy almost 7 year old at the end of the month. You can't tell he was preemie he is taller then most of the kids in his class@ tater4414
I'm certain your baby will be just fine :) I was born at 27w 23 years ago and if I made it with the lack of technology back then, your baby will be ok. They will need about a month or two in the nicu and will have a increased risk of infection and may need a special light to make sure they don't get jaundice as well as steroids for lung development. but, the nicu is a place where angels live-called skilled, loving nurses-who are great at what they do. prayers!
@tater4414 My son was born at 33 weeks and my daughter was born at 34.. No serious problems at all.. They both took being bottle fed.. Don't get discouraged at all..
oh my gosh the fact they were breathing on their own gives me so much hope!!! @amorebello
my son was born 33 weeks and spent a month in the ICU
yep I am 22 yrs old engaged to be married to a wonderful marine in just a little over a month! and am almost 14 weeks pregnant with our little miracle. :)
@tater4414 Both my babies came out breathing on their own, didn't need any help with that.. Only thing was both of them were 3lbs 4oz.. My daughter stayed longer because while she was in there I found out I tested positive for Gbs and she ended up catching it.. I had her at 34 weeks and they don't check for that till 35 weeks.. But other then that they gave her antibiotics for 14 days..
how was the babies breathing and what not? @amorebello
oh that makes me so happy to hear!!!!! I'm so glad you are doing good! @marinesrodeo9394
Both of my babies were preemie and in the Nicu.. My 3 month old was born at 34 weeks and spent a month in the Nicu.. She came home August 8 a day after her due date. Don't feel down about it, you'll definitely understand what it means to be strong and being strong for your baby.. Sending prays to you and your baby at this time 😙😍 @tater4414
I'm not a mom of a preemie. but I was one. my mom shared her stories of when my twin and I were born. we were 8 weeks early. I was 1lb and 12oz. my mom told me it was scary, the doctor even gave her an option on giving up on me. but she did not, told her I would be a vegetable but I am not. I walk talk, dance ride my horse, sing. I'm completely fine besides having weaker bones. my encouragement to her would be, don't give up, keep faith, I am so greatful my mom didn't give up on me even though she was told to. I have a picture of myself when I was born. they couldn't even get a diaper to fit me. I was there for 8 weeks after I was born. then I finally got to go home. I walked late but... I'm here alive, and currently carrying my own child. Best of wishes momma!! I'll be praying.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...
As a Mom pregnant with twins and already experiencing contractions and the threat of preterm labor, my thoughts and prayers are with you!!
