I can't wait to move to Arkansas. Only 4 more days. This cold is too much. But it's a 12 hour drive and I have a 3 week…

I lived in Arkansas my whole life, and I love it! I grew up in Fort Smith til I was 8, and moved to Helena (by Tennessee) for a year, then to Gentry, until I was an adult. Now I live one town over in Siloam Springs. I guess it's different in northern Arkansas. The weather has been ok (60s) the past few days, but when it gets cold, it gets cold lol. It also snows 2-3 times a year after January, but with only one "bad" snow. It's probably nothing compared to what you are used to though. I think the most snow we've ever gotten was 6 inches a few years ago.

ok I just looked and you're close to arkadelphia and pine bluff, which are bigger than fordyce but I'm not sure if they have a mall

not sure about malls... I'd have to see what's the next biggest city you're closest to. And it snows maybe once every 3-5 years here and when it does it's like 3 inches at most and lasts only a couple of days.

I've been to Arkansas once but only in eureka springs so not far into the state lol. I'm just afraid that it's going to be VERY different. Hm. Little rock looks nice, according to google images that is 😉 😂😂@levleah

let's see... fordyce is a pretty small town, so I doubt there's a lot to do there. But LR isn't far and has a lot of things to do. The weather is so much better here (well summer's are super hot/humid), but i hate cold weather. There's tons of cool outdoor places to go... lots of caves, caverns, mountains, lakes, etc. But it's a very different way of life than what I was used to after living in NYC and chicago. It's s much slower pace here, and to be honest, it can be a bit backwards sometimes. But it's a great place to raise kids, which is one of the reasons I moved back.

Have you been to Arkansas before? It's a beautiful state... so much to do outdoors, if that's your thing. Just be prepared, it's very different socially/politically here.

yep, I know fordyce! I'm originally from LR, but haven't lived here in years. I moved here from chicago and the weather is sooo much better!
