I understand it's different when breastfeeding and bottle feeding. I'm breastfeeding now but I also give him bottles. But he hates the bottle and cries for my breast. Your mom should have not done that.

no it's not ridiculous come on....😕the baby is probably just too full from the formula or is having difficulties digesting it faster. be patient it will be ok and back to normal soon 😊

You didn't pump to give her any breast milk to feed him? Don't feel bad or sad, just keep offering your breast. Many mothers supplement, and it may be confusing to the baby which is why he won't take for more than 5 minutes (I'm sure you know this) but you have to learn what the baby likes and doesn't like nipple wise for bottles. Don't be discouraged!

I did pump, she wasn't supposed to have him for the whole day my dad wouldn't drive me back and told me I couldn't breastfeed and go back to work

Why do people have to bring others down? If a mother feels heart broken because her baby doesn't want to nurse, that's completely understandable and has absolutely nothing to do with any other child out there. I would be upset to mama! Hang in there, baby is probably just a little nipple confused (bottles feed faster) keep offer breast as much as possible.

@mamabearholland, you can still breastfeed and go back go work. they let you pump. Dont be discouraged:) Formula can sometimes upset there tummy make them gassy, so just give him time. rub his tummy gently he might have a tummyache. also if he only nurses for a few minutes thats ok;) just keep trying. even if its only 5 minutes thats great:)

Also you should talk with your mom or whoever might have him that it is your decision to bf and you would like them to respect that if they dont, they cant watch baby end of story. I find it rude if someone doesn't respect what you want as a parent. So keep trying dont give up. i bet once baby is feeling.better he'll be back to regularly nursing.

can you not tell me I shouldn't be upset he isn't breastfeeding I'm not throwing away food or anything and nothing is wrong with formula but I want him to breastfeed not only that but my breast are swollen and sore

yeah I was crying to her telling her all that etc and she apologized, not only that but I repeated several times that it makes him constipated because I tried just 1 bottle a day and he wouldn't poop for a week no one listens to me, and he's MY son

Keep trying. After hes done eating pump that way your keeping your supply up and your boobs wont be as sore. I believe you said hes 2 weeks old? you can also see a lactation specialist to help:)

My daughter was 5 weeks early spent two weeks in nicu she drank my pumped milk. but when she got home at 2 weeks old i only nursed her for 3 weeks she took a bottle that didnt feel or look like a boob and every time trying to nurse shed after 2 minutes scream and fuss because it wasnt fast like the bottle. i regret giving up you can do this. if you need to talk feel free to pm me. also if you have to use a bottle here and there i recommend tommee tippie :)

@lp1988727, a few things Hun. It is very hurtful when someone feeds your child formula when you are wanting to breastfeed. Same thing happened to me with my son and that ruined the chance for us to have the bonding a mother and child get with breastfeeding. Yes I am thankful he was able to eat even though it was formula, as I know this mom is. However she has ever right to be upset that her son breastfeeding has been messed up do to being given formula. When the bond of breastfeeding is broken it is very sad and heartbreaking. Your comment to this women was rude and unnecessary. We moms do the best we can to raise our kids how we want them raised. This is a place to come for advice and support not a place to be told your feelings are "ridiculous" @mamabearholland I am sorry that she said this to you and just want to say I understand your hurt and frustration. Keep trying to breastfeed. Maybe call a lactation specialist for advice if he still won't feed for long? Pump what you can since I know your breast must be killing you. Freeze the milk and try and keep him strictly breast! Might help his latching.

Wow that is one of the rudest comments I've seen on here @lp1988727 you need to learn to keep scrolling... You don't need to be here with that negativity.

As for the original post, it's totally normal to feel that way. Just keep trying! Everything can go back to normal with patience. Good luck. Can't believe someone would do that without your permission. :(
