BREASTFEEDING BREAKDOWN..!!!
I had my daughter on the 13th. And I knew I wanted to breastfeed for sure, but she was not latching and felt like my nipples were too big. She's only 5lbs 4oz. The nurses kept making me try to latch her like every 2/3 hrs. Ended up having to get her on Formula. They made it seem like if I don't latch her it's the end of the world. Do not freak out like I did. When the actual milk came in she automatically latched and I'm back to breastfeeding. Don't give up it gets better. And I noticed she falls asleep better on breast milk than formula.
@kathale95, don't freak out. Don't try feeding him when he is hungry...try maybe after a little bit of formula. I used to always try when she was hungry and she wouldn't latch. And that's because they are hungry and they just want it to go smooth. Try formula then finish off with breast milk. If he doesn't don't give up just keep doing it everytime you feed him. And I borrowed my breast pump from wic.
I have a similar problem happening now. I planned on breastfeeding my whole pregnancy, just had my baby on Friday morning and he wouldn't stay latched and all the nurses were saying that it was because of the "recovery sleep" so I would still try with no sucess. After that I tried again thinkin he would latch and nothing would happen, then one of the nurses told me I have flat nipples, we'll the same day I found that out he had gotten circumcised and they said that was probably why he still wasn't latching on. so we would continue to try with STILL no success. then I told one of my nurses about how I had flat nipples and she recommended a nipple shield, the nipple shield was working wonders but we finally had to get her to syringe feed him some formula so we could sleep cause he was screaming all night cause he was so hungry. i had a break down that night and all i could was cry until i finally called her to take him to feed him. i still feel like I'm not gonna be able to breast feed and I am going to have to pump because now the nipple shield doesnt work so I have to either express into a spoon and feed him that way or just give him formula. but now my breasts are engorged and sore and I don't have a pump yet so once again I feel a breakdown coming. I don't know what I'm gonna do...😢
my boy was not even6lbs and he NEVER latched so don't feel bad
Yea and don't let them force formula on you my baby didn't get latched good until the last day when they were bout to let me out she knew I wasn't going for that formula mess it take time and the little drops of colostrum is enough to sustain the baby til the flow starts

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.

I wanted to do one of these before our breastfeeding journey ended. I have a feeling it’s soon 😔 since her dr has us giving her formula to give her more calories, I’m finding it difficult to give her breastmilk as well. She gets full off of me alone so she doesn’t want the formula if I breastfeed her first. And if I give her formula first, she doesn’t want the breastmilk. I’ve been alternating feedings but that’s just caused my supply to drop. She’s getting chunky, though. That’s all I care abou...
Ugh ! I was trying to get paisley to latch and she was screaming up a storm (which is why we ALWAYS end up giving her a bottle) her dad gets up to pee looks down the hall at us and just goes back to bed...NOOO I guess I don't need your fucking help though it'd be nice if you'd make a bottle while I'm trying or help her latch...I'm sick of feeling like a failure because I can only pump for her and we can't physically breastfeed !
@tinashe, I have decided to just pump I feel like it's the best option for me. Thank you so much!
