@mommytobe_, the hospital here on base is HORRIBLE. I have heard one to many stories. My husband wouldn't even let me pick if I wanted prime or standard. He said I have to be on standard because he didn't want any of the doctors on base touching me or our son once he got here. It sucks paying a little out of pocket but it is totally worth it! We have a fantastic pediatrician for our son that we just LOVE and my Obgyn is amazing!

yea it's just the military hospitals suck here ugh Oh well I have to get over it lol its just that I've been freaking out about miscarriage and all that and some people saying how when they go and hear the babys heart beat it's not what's it's suppose to be and so they have an opportunity to be watched closely idk I think overreacting but I just wanted them to tell me everything was going good @kartersmom @hward12 thanks I'm trying not to think about it or stress about it too much lol

omg really they dont? ugh I was hoping to at least hear my baby's heart beat today because it was my first appointment but they didn't and I was sad I just want to make sure he/she is ok and that the heart rate is good but I guess I will have to wait til next month :/ thank you though :) @hward12

I'm not high risk, my doctor was able to hear the heart beat at 8 weeks, but I hear it is different depending on the person

Hey I saw that you said base earlier and went to your page saw you are a military wife. So am I!! (: hate that it is like that for you. The base we are stationed at does not have the means for L&D so we have to go off base. I have seen a lot of people say they only get 2 ultra sounds but with my son and now this one I get one every single time (first appt was 6weeks) and hear the heartbeat. It's strange to me that some doctors only do 2 ultrasounds. Try not to stress! Hopefully your 12 week mark will be here soon!

a lot of times before 12 weeks it can be hard to find the heartbeat because the baby is still down in the pelvis, then if they cant find it then it can put unneeded stress on the mom, hang in there!!

I got an ultrasound at my PCP for dating if the pregnancy.. they are right you can't hear heartbeat till then anyway

They should at least do a Doppler at every other appt

Usually you only get two ultrasounds if you're not high risk. 12-20.

Yes I've pretty much had an ultra sound every month since I've been pregnant found out the gender at 13 weeks. 20 weeks is a long time to wait!

no I'm not and because I guess that's not how they do things they told me I could go somewhere else outside of the base to pay for an ultrasound but they won't do one there until 20 weeks far along and that's also when I will find out the gender of the baby it sucks :/ @kartersmom
