Question for my GROWN, long term/engaged/married ladies: what is your stance on your man going out to hang out at clubs/bars/parties without you? Is it a no no in your relationships or are you ok with it?
He does things with his friends and brothers and cousins like fishing and to the shooting range and things like that. But not clubbing. Plus he's not really the party type.
My husband wouldn't want me in a club so the same goes for him. I know what the club scene is like and it is not for married people.
I've been with my DH for 12 years. When it comes to him leaving and going out with his friends, it's usually sports related. We are a very close couple and we don't go far from one another.
I used to worry about this when I first met my husband. I just don't care now if he goes out because I trust him to respect our relationship. He is the love of my life and maybe because I am older, there are other thing I waste my energy on like what I want to eat or taking care of our daughter. I know he won't do anything to hurt me or our relationship.
My boyfriend doesn't go anywhere so we don't have this issue whatsoever. He goes to work and home. We do everything together. It's not for controlling or possessive reasons; it's cuz we enjoy spending time together and it's rare that we have alone time.
Lol @jomommaclark I think that's my problem too. I just want to go!!! I'm outgoing and like having a good time so I guess I feel left out when he wants to go with his cousin. But I am also jealous.
@peanut0915, I understand! It is ever an issue in the relationship that you don't like it?
@chela915, Lol. me too. I think that's my problem. I just need to not be so jealous sometimes and let go. And he knows that I am so he never goes anywhere but every now and then he gets the friends that ask him to go out or the cousin that I mentioned.
I don't like it. I actually insist on being there. yeah I'm the jealous type but mostly bc I want to have fun too.
my husband doesn't like the bar/ club scene, so I don't have to worry. but if he did I wouldn't care if it was for a few hours
@mrs.blackmon, This will be my first child so I can't quite relate but I do agree that child or no child, everyone does need me time. I like to get away from him sometime but I don't have any friends or anywhere to go. lol
@kparis, 6 years is a long time to deal with the same issue. That's our fault as women, we are so forgiving and so willing to give chance after chance after chance clinging to some hope that the man that we are so in love with will finally get his shit together. Sometimes the patience and persistence pays off, and sometimes it some back to bite us in the ass. I guess now it's just time for you to figure out how much more you can take. Now that you've got this little life coming into the world, are you prepared to answer them when they ask "where is daddy" all the time or always hear you asking where he is?
@ainsleighsmommy, Thank you, seriously. I guess I never thought to think about it that way. That helps me alot. :)
No, no. It's ok to go get a drink with a friend that I know once in a while, but not actually go clubbing and stuff. Also not with ppl I don't know.
@wisky80wife, oh girl.... good luck with that of you were living in vegas. The bars never close and clubs not until about 5 or 6 am. And we have one that stays open until 10am. Lol
It's been a constant issue! We've been together for 6 years, and he's always gone and done his thing, parties ect but now that's we're a family it's an even bigger issue, I've left and he said he would stop, then today he's not home yet and haven't heard from him. I'm so sick of it.
@kparis, honestly, when we first got together a few years ago, I had a time trying to convince him that it was disrespectful for him to go out and stay out hanging out all night. It was a constant battle I swear because he felt like it wasn't wrong. So I know exactly how you feel. But I had to put my foot down and let him know that I wasn't gonna be around while he did whatever he wanted to do. I even left (only for a few days lol) but it made him sick and realize that he really needed me around
@nica26, thank you . I just feel like I shouldn't be a babysitter and say you have to be home by this time and you have to call me when you get to a certain place . I'm not a babysitter . As long as you can feel good about whatever you do then I'm cool .
I always say an hour before the bar closes which is at 2 so he needs to be at my house no by 1:30 if he isn't doors get locked n he sleeps outside...luckily this hasn't happened since the beginning of our marriage and he usually comes in at 11-12 and doesn't even risk it
@wisky80wife, what is a respectable time to you? And if he comes home later, will it be an argument or do you let it slide?
@ainsleighsmommy, I like that. That's a good, stress free, adult way of thinking about it.... It's nice to see different people's point of views.
Now that I'm a stay at home mommy and he works alot it bums me our when he goes because I want to hang out with someone other than my 1 yr old. Lol but he works hard and I think we all deserve a night out occasionally.
@kcal12, yea, I think that was my issue a little, I don't know why but me being pregnant makes me hate it even more him wanting to go out without me. I don't know why.
@mrsalston, lol. yes, we've been out to the strip clubs and partied together and that so I understand. That's nice that you can be mature enough to trust and laugh it off when he does go with his friends because you know he's yours. :)
@nica26, good question. Well I guess I am a really jealous person. I do trust my husband to a point. I just do not feel comfortable and he knows me so have never had an issue for now.
Exactly, he just says he doesn't do anything wrong, but to me doing it period is something wrong! He just doesn't seem to care anymore.
@kparis, That's def something that needs to be up for discussion because how many times can you tell him that you don't like something yet he still does it? What does he say when you ask him not to?
yes being pregnant can bring out the jealousy in you, but as long as you trust him.. and his cousin gonna have to respect y'all relationship when they go out together
But he never wants to go out so I don't ever have to deal with it thank goodness
@arielmarietalks, understandable. if you don't have trust, then what do you have!!!
Before I was pregnant I didn't mind now that we have a child I don't think he needs to be out at the bars he's grown he did all that before we had our child now it's time to be a family man.
@mrs.blackmon, @iheartriley @theredheadchic I hate it when he wants to go out. He always asks if I'm ok with it and rarely, I mean rarely ever goes without me but me being prego all in the club just isn't a good look. Lol. He has a cousin who is single and that's who he wants to go with. I just feel some type of way when he does ask to go out. It always kind of puts me in my feelings ya know!
Yes it's ok but my prefers me to go. if he all of a sudden didn't want me to go it'd be suspicious
He can do whatever he wants as long as he can look himself and me in the face and be okay with what he did . So I have no problem with it . He's grown .
I'm ok with it as long as he comes home at a respectable time and my husband barely goes out so when he does it's usually cause I make him
My husband is not really into strippers but we've been together and he's been maybe once or twice with his friends but it's never something he'll decide to do on his own😁😁😁
I would let my husband go because i trust him, but he won't he says he would rather be home with me.
My husband barely ever goes out, we don't really have friends here, but I trust him with every part of me so he can go out and stay out how long He wants as long as he comes home to me and our kids. Plus I know He isn't dumb enough to cheat on me.
I hate it but I let him breathe every now & then ...but I dnt play that going out every weekend mess, sorry just not me! & when he does wana go out, he respects me & talks to me about it before hand.
Ill let my husband go, if he wanted too.. I trust him but if he ever come home disrespectful or suspicious I will have a problem.. better to be open then have him do it behind my back
My husband goes put with his friends...not all the time but occasionally.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Due to my husband barely ever going out to the bar or club anytime he asks I let him go. He is very responsible and I have complete trust in him. We have been married 3 years and he has asked twice to go. One was for his birthday and the other was for a going away thing.
