At 34 week ultrasound the dr said my baby was only 4 pounds, only the 20th percentile. He also said not to worry but she is on the small side of normal. I can't help but be extremely stressed out that anything could be wrong even though he said it's probably ok. Anyone have experience with this? 😕
@simpsonv54 what exactly are the effects of the growth restriction? Is that a life long thing?
my baby was in the 30th percentile at 34 weeks. she was born at 40w 4 d and was 8.85 lbs and 21.5 inches long in the 9th percentile and now she's exclusively breastfed at 3 months she's at least 15lbs that's still about 90 to 95th my Dr told me I'd have a small or average baby!
I did but my son was diagnosed withba growth restriction. he was born at 38 weeks and 3 days weighing 5 pounds 12 ounces.
At my 30 weeks ultrasound ( high risk appointment every 3-4 weeks ) my boy measured at the 8th percentile ! Due to preeclampsia i delivered at 32 weeks and he weighed 3lbs 7 oz dropped down to 2lbs 10 oz 3 weeks later we are at 4lbs 9 oz ! Try not to worry mama they don't start to get worried until baby drops under the 10th percentile !
@ktk24, while in the womb it's harder for them to grow , now that my son is here ( came at 32 weeks) he is thriving ! Growing like a weed he's gaining 1 to 2 oz a day ( he was 3 lbs 7 oz went down to 2lbs 10 oz now we are at 4lbs 9 oz so he has gained almost 2 lbs in 25 days :) Has grown an inch in length and his head has grown 1 centimeter.. He has no issues he passed his hearing just fine , passed his eye exam just fine !!
