So I'm planning on breast feeding my baby when she's born and her daddy is set on helping through the night feelings (which im so thankful for) but my question is can I breast feed her then pump for the next bottle when he gets up with her then breast feed again and pump for the next feeding for him and so forth???? My other 2 I never had help my daughter was born early and my breast milk dried up VERY quickly and with my son he wouldn't latch on for anything in the world and I ended up drying up after a month or so and I had a great milk supply then I pumped and gave it to him in a bottle but it still dried up. But with this one I wanna try my best to JUST breast feed her and not have to use formula. Got some more weeks left but I wanna be ready

Just some Advice, pumping is not recommended before 6 weeks. I started pumping and it came with a lot of problems and my daughter is only 3 weeks old.

giving a bottle is not recommended for the first 4 weeks because it can cause nipple confusion just a heads up..

i pump when she sleeps through feedings, this would be the only time I suggest pumping before 6 weeks PP. Everyone is different though just because one mom had issues with pumping early doesn't mean you will. I've known plenty moms who pumped early on and nothing is wrong with their children

I'm mostly thinking when I start back to work bc I work til late at night. I doubt I'll be able to sleep through her waking up tho lol I watched my friends baby once before and was up with her everytime she even moved lol and with my other 2 I was always up with them so it's what I'm used to anyway lol but thanks for all the advice!!!!

My baby was born 30.3 weeks. So all I could do was pump she's six weeks sunday (36.3) weeks and she latched on for the first time last night which was an amazing experience.
I pump 15 mins every 2-3 hour starting out. Now that she's home I pump after I feed her, we try breast feeding every feeding now then supplement for the bottle if she still hungry. I get 20-25 ounces a day.

It's going to be really hard to pump enough to keep up with night feedings, especially at the beginning. It's best to just nurse her and let Daddy bond other ways. Obviously if you are at work then you'll need him to give her a bottle. The reason it isn't recommended to pump too early is because you can develop over supply which can be hard to deal with. I only gave my daughter a bottle when I was at work. If I was home then I nursed her myself. So much easier and I didn't have to be attached to a pump all the time.
