Hey Ladys 👋 What field of work do you lady's work in? I work in the mental health field, where I work for the state with adults with mental disorders and its very dangerous especially since I'm pregnant. so I'm on FMLA for medical issue and the safety of my baby.

omg I'm so interested in working in that field. what degree do you hold and where do you work? (if you don't mind me asking) I'm still in school. I am focusing on human development major and not sure how to go about getting into that field. my last job I was working with mentally disabled adults but I was only making 9 an hour but I loved it and I miss my clients terribly. I ended up having to quit. my doctor wouldn't let me go on fmla

I took mental health and I work as a Mental health Technician for the state at a place called Desert Regional Center... look on your state, county or city websites for jobs in that field. You got experiences in that field and love helping others they will differently hired you, some state job even send you to school for free its a requirement. @ashleysable

I am a teacher. I have taught special education, resource, kindergarten and computers. I want to take the Praxis to be certified to teach under my degree area, family and consumer sciences. I also have a minor in early intervention, which would be an alternate route for a future career.

@iheartriley, it is such a rewarding job. I wish the public school system was more supportive in those roles. I have learning disabilities and other things. My disability coordinator in college saved my life. I will always hold special educators in high regard for what they do. I enjoy working in that field and would have stayed in it had we not lost the preschool special education program.

@iheartriley there is always hope! Your son will be stronger because of your active presence in his life, overcoming these things! Keep going!!! 😀 seeing parents involved in helping their children like this is such a beautiful thing to witness. The best thing you could ever do is be an advocate for your boy's needs. I didn't learn that I had serious learning/adaptive issues until I was a freshman in college! Everyone always pacified me and pushed me through with minimal understanding of why I struggled. I was FAILING college with a 1.29 GPA. After a year of working with a school psychologist and my disabilities coordinator at the college, I was on the Dean's list and finished with a 4.0! Don't give up!!! 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

@I heartriley, @nurseriri thank you for the kind words. I am still learning about what works to keep me on track as an adult, and what doesn't. Children inspire me to be more forgiving of myself and focus on the POSITIVE. It has opened my eyes so much and I truly am inspired most by them. @nurseriri I am a CNA. I worked through my clinical practice for the required time and learned so much. I cared for a hospice patient the full length of my second day and found myself falling apart at the seams. I finished my time in clinicals because I felt it was where I was meant to be, but I didn't pursue it any further. I admire people who can do that kind of work, daily. I am not emotionally strong enough. My heart felt crushed for the suffering I witnessed and I just couldn't cope. I'm grateful for the experience and it will never leave me.

@eternalsunshine4, working there per diem brings out the caring, empathetic side of you. It's very fulfilling. I don work there that often, at least 2 times per month. It's a very emotional field of work.
