what all are they supposed to do at every baby appointment? my midwife only does the Doppler and the tape measure and measures how big my belly is. she also talks to me and sees how I've been doing but are they supposed to do an internal exam every visit? the only exam I've had was on my first appointment at 2 months so idk...is that what they're supposed to do?

Too many internals can introduce bacteria up there! So usually they just do them at the end. My midwives started asking me if I wanted to be checked at 39 weeks :)

Ok good. I was just making sure because I've been hearing that they behave to do externals like every visit. so I'm just like everyone else. awesome! @rainbowboyvincentluke @chocohunnybees

Mine didn't do anything until I hit 40 weeks. no internal exams or anything

Or cultures if needed for labs. Last week I got cultures for the strep b virus.

That sounds about right. Unless you're high risk or you're scheduled for an ultrasound that's about all you do at your regular visits. I see my regular doctor every week now that I'm almost done with the last trimester and he did the first cervical check to see if I was dilating but most of the time he just does Doppler and measures fundal height.
