Does anyone think it may be a little too late to switch doctors? I Really would Like a midwife, but I don't know of any here in Missouri.

@arielmarietalks, I am thinking of switching from my ob to a midwife who is at the same practice. On my visit before last, I was told the ob I was seeing from the beginning was no longer delivering babies... what was so terrible was that he didn't even have the nerve to tell me, I found out when I was checking out and scheduling my next appointment. Then, I go in a few weeks ago, meet the new ob and she was so busy, I literally felt like I was just a number! She said, "sorry, I'm busy today, everything looks good, any questions??" Boom.. done with my appointment in less than 5 minutes. WTH??? I am paying you (along with my insurance) to be treated like cattle??? Bwahahahaha...So, I will be asking to switch on my next appointment and I will be 26 weeks

The only birth center near me is an hour away but after visiting my husband and I decided it wasn't a match for us and now we are planning a homebirth @arielmarietalks

@california12632, @arielmarietalks birthing centers are awesome. My fiancé doesn't feel comfortable with the idea and he is what is holding me back from just going there to complete my pregnancy 😒 good luck with your choices

You can switch whenever you like. I switched to a midwife at 36 weeks.

@amber.s95, @morninstar @loveless I found a birthing center about 30 miles away. which is about a 20 minute drive and that's the closest one. It looks absolutely amazing and I want to switch there but I'm afraid it might be too far away! The hospital I'm supposed to give birth in is like a 3 minute drive!

@vicnik, midwives are more into natural births and home births and water births. plus they are much more personal!

Yeah I moved at 30 weeks and had to get another doctor obviously, so you can. :)

It's never too late, I haven't seen any doctor and only recently found a midwife organization I really like. I say if you are not happy with your care provider don't settle!

@arielmarietalks, definitely not too late if you are comfortable with starting new with someone else. I am switching docs because my current ob just told me she doesn't work out of the hospital I prefer. Although I am contemplating altogether to just switch to a birthing center

I don't think its too late. You don't have to stay with the doctor you have if you don't want to.

sorry if this sounds dumb. lol but I'm a first time mom so I just don't know everything yet. whats the difference between a midwife and just a regular Obgyn doctor?

Short Luteal Phase?

I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
