Sorry this might be TMI but my doctor mentioned me being tested for group B strep at my next appointment. I know they swab your vagina but I read that they swab your rectum, is this true? My doctor didn't mention this part so I'm just wondering.
They do swab your bum. They don't like stick the qtip in there or anything if that's what you're worried about! 😊 just a quick swipe over your bum hole.😊
@larissasentell021815, no... to be honest if he did I didn't feel it .... it was more uncomfy to feel the swab towards my pee hole. but it really didn't hurt and they don't go inside of any holes.... just a literal 1..2..3.. swipes and done
I tested Positive On mine But I Had 2 Have A C SECTION so it didn't matter 4 me. & it was 3 Years Ago 4 My son but I'm pretty sure they Swab both.. its super fast you hardly feel it at all and they don't go inside Jst the outside rim .. Good Luck Girly.. I'm Having a c section 4 my second one also so it really doesn't matter but all they do is give u antibiotics thru ur labor
yup. they just swab the outside of the vagina n rectum. I tested positive and needed to have the antibiotics during labor. super common in a lot of pregnant women.
They did it for me and I tested positive with my first. They give you an Iv typically when you're in labor so they will add an antibiotic to make sure the Strep B doesn't hurt the baby. It's rather common. Try not to worry. I don't think you feel much with the swab it's quick and painless in comparison to labor!
