So I'm getting the shot as birth control and I keep hearing that weight gain is a common side effect. I'm not trying to get bigger. Any of you ladies get the shot and have u gained any weight from it?

I definitely gained weight on the depo shot-about 15 lbs at least. I can't figure out which birth control to get after baby. I've had the pill-which I got pregnant on, depo, and the patch. I'm not really into the iud idea and have had friends who have had a lot of issues with it.
When I was on the birth control shot I Got huge. Gained 20 pounds or more within the first Couple months. The shot can mess you up with your body and having babies in the future. I went to the pills, the pills don't make you gain weight. But just got to keep track of takin them. but that was 2 years ago since I took birth control. I've been trying to concieve again. Th birth control didn't mess me up other than the weight gain. I have gotten pregnant once. & never know what's next. I just lost my first one. But good luck
My mother in law has been on the shot for 16 years and gained i think 30 lbs from it and hasnt been able to lose it she keeps getting the shot so when she does lose it the shot just makes her gain it back also my aunts are on the shot and they gained weight so are my friends thats why I'm choosing the iud
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

I never gained weight on the shot. Everybody's different... I was on in for 15 years before I got pregnant. And I'm on it again now.
