How did you get your babies to sleep alone? Arwen is six weeks old and wakes up screaming EVERY time I put her in her bassinet. Even if she's fed, dry, swaddled (or in light blanket depending on the temperature). It's driving me crazy, I'm at my wits end! I can't sleep (as in I can't fall asleep) with her in my bed, and I'm so frustrated I want to cry.

some babies need to feel the security if their mom's.

my son only sleeps when he's cuddled next to me, it soothes him and he feels safe.

little by little I've been leaving him on the bassinet. .. he only sleeps in it for about half an hour, when i go to him every 10/15 min and sing to him and touch his face he sleeps in there longer, a full 3 hour nap.

they're still too young and need your body heat. .. they feel your love. give her some time. also what helps is when I put a shirt of mine in the bassinet with him... he smells his momma and it soothes him

I understand that, but I need sleep as well. I'm crying every night and my relationship is falling apart because the lack of sleep is making me so irritable. I start college classes soon and need to be able to sleep (even just a few hours) to be able to focus

There's no way to make them sleep alone. For the first six months of my son's life I pretty much did anything and everything to soothe and make him happy. Up until about six months they REALLY need you and depend on your presence and touch. It's hard I know. I've had so so many sleepless nights and it's still not over and he's 1.5. There's honestly nothing you can do besides enjoy it and figure out a way to fall asleep with him next to you. You'll miss him wanting to sleep right on top of you. Trust me.

what @queendavis said. your baby is too young to know how or even want to sleep alone. just think of it this way, your baby spent 9 months all warm and dark snuggled nice and cozy in your womb to be born into a cold bright loud environment, detached from their source of nourishment. Babies this young favor that warm dark cozy environment they got used to in your womb. if you want to try and get a little more sleep, try mimicking the environment in the womb. Swaddling my baby nice and snug at that age really helped me get a little more sleep as well as sleeping with baby skin to skin on my chest. Good luck, it gets better I promise!

Maybe try having something in the bassinet of your scent to help. Also maybe try for naps doing it to ween her into it. It's hard I gotta start putting my son in his crib and I'm gonna start doing it with naps first

Get her a swing! Mine sleeps better and longer in the swing than the bassinet

I second the swing! And swaddle and white noise and all the staples. But my son slept in either my or my husbands arms for the first three months of his life haha. Do you have a support person who could take baby for a few hours while you get some sleep? I used to go laybdown at 8 or 9 and hubby would get me up at 12 or 1. I would feed and go right to sleep and then he'd give one bottle and when baby woke up for the next feeding, I got up :) This will definitely pass. Hang in there, mama!!

I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
