Ok preggies and moms, I need input/perspective. I'm
having lots of inner conflict about breastfeeding. I've got degrees in both biology and psychology, work in healthcare (specifically clinical research), and definitely know all the benefits of it for both mother and baby. I've done tons of reading on it, and plan on attending my city's la leche league's chapter meetings starting this month... buuuut... for some reason I don't know if I want to do it. I can't explain why either, because I really don't know! I hate admitting this because it makes me feel so guilty but I just feel uncomfortable by it and don't understand why. Have any of you experienced this? And if so, were you able to get over it? I really want to make the best decisions and don't know why I feel like this.

Definitely educate yourself and surround yourself with a good support team. Attending LLL meetings will be super helpful and enlightening for you too! Whatever decision you make is yours! I would definitely encourage you to at least try. Once baby's here and you try it you might feel completely different. ❤️ and if not that's okay too. ❤️

@kmally, I definitely am going to try. I just hate that I don't have the same feelings I see other expectant moms having about looking forward to breastfeeding. It's even more confusing because I don't understand why I feel like this. I feel like I'm lacking some sort of maternal instinct. It's just really confusing.

It's totally normal! 😘

@kmally, I hope so! There are so many confusing experiences as a FTM. I just hope I make the right decisions.

I totally know the feeling. Even this time around I question the decisions! There's so many to make lol. The best thing you can do is research and do what feels right for you. ❤️ I knew I wanted to breastfeed until 6 months but I felt weird about it. Like really they're going to eat from where?! But now my little man is 15 months and still nursing and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Lol.

@kmally, thank you for all of this! It really helps hearing from someone else's experience. I'll definitely keep doing all of my research. I'm not due til December, so maybe I'm just stressing a bit prematurely.

I know somwone that breastfeeding made her super uncomfortable. she breastfed in the hospital so her hormones would do their job then she just pumped milk and bottlefed so baby would get all the good nutrients from her milk.
