So I wanted to post my labor story here because it's still pretty crazy even after a having my son a little over a year ago.
I went to my doctor about 2 days before I became 40 weeks pregnant(It was a Wednesday) and she checked me and we talked about induction. Being an impatient FTM I wanted to have him that weekend. She said she would call the hospital and have them set up a day and that they would call her back with the date and then she would call me back the same day(Wednesday still lol)! We were super excited and anxious and we waited until the following day(Thursday) and she still hadn't called. So my very impatient husband called the hospital and they told us to be at the hospital at 8:30 am that following Friday (My due date)
So we get to the hospital and I meet my amazing nurse, my doula shows up and passes out my birth plan. So we start pumping to help get contractions started, I walk around and just your typical stuff lol. So a bunch of doctors come in a few hours later and tell me that my doctor didn't even know in was being induced that day and that if I don't progress they would be sending me home, I was not having that!l and I think they could tell because at 1:48 they broke my water and so my labor started! I did a ton of walking, bounced on a ball, took a hot shower because back labor is no joke. By this time I had no epidural because I didn't want one, but I caved in because I thought this was gonna be a long labor, but boy was I wrong. They gave me my epidural and then they checked me and before it even kicked in, I was pushing, so I felt everything! 30 minutes of pushing and my little dude was born. 8:48pm (exactly 7 hours after my water was broken) on 4-4-14 on the 4th floor in room 14 weight 7 pounds and 14 ounces and 21 inches long! It was one of the best days of my life and I can't wait to have this baby and I'm definitely not having an epidural this time because it really wasn't that bad. hahaha
