In 2013 they changed the guidelines to 37 weeks being considered "early term" and 39 weeks being considered "full term". I see so many mother trying to induce themselves way too early. Let your baby come when he is ready, and if he doesn't, let a medical professional make the decision when to induce.

my doctor told me 37 weeks is considered full term , guess many Dr's have different opinions . I also see mommy's on here tryn to induce early just cause THEY wants their baby's with them but I agree let baby bake till he/she is ready

Yes! So glad he came at 39 weeks! Obviously I was miserable at 37 weeks and wanted him out too but it seems so selfish to just make him come when I want to! I understand medical reasoning though. The last couple of weeks the baby is gaining fat to sustain his hunger while moms milk comes in

my ob says 38 weeks is full term but if you are getting induced it wont be tell 39 weeks unless something is wrong.

37 was considered full term years ago if you research you will find 39 weeks to be full term. 38 could be term. I couldn't agree more @tracynangel it's really selfish to make your baby come earlier than he is ready. I know we all get extremely uncomfortable but you have to do what's best and healthiest for baby!

Yeah because most people had babies around 37 which is cool but I'd rather my 40 or 39 rather be safe than selfish

Yes! And now I'm so glad he came later rather than earlier cuz he is so skinny and lost weight! If he had some earlier he'd be born at 6 lbs and lose weight and end up being 5! Not good
