Is there any advice you mommies can give me about college? I start next month and I need all the advice I can get.
@theredheadchic, gorgeously said!!! thank you for all your advice! I appreciate it. and may all your desires come true!!! I won't give up💜💜💜 thank you
Early childhood is younger children...elem edu is k-5 ...so if u want to be in the school system then ur in the right area. I personally want to open & own my own childcare center, so my concentration is management. I don't want to be a teacher. Honey, I've been in school too damn long! That's u my advise to u was to never drop classes!!! I'm finally on path & really focused so I'm almost there! Being pregnant & going to school (esp summer school) was rough for me BUT I am GREAT under pressure, that's when I thrive so actually this was my first semester getting all A's! & honestly, I'm to a point where I'm like I'm getting old & I need to finish what I've started so no more playing around for me! Jus pleaseeee stay focused & don't give up!
@theredheadchic, I'm sorry for all the questions! I'm just so interested lol
@theredheadchic, What is Early Childhood Ed?? And how many years have you been going to college? Is it tough that your pregnant and going to school at the same time?
Oh cool, I'm Early Childhood Ed major..I have 1 year left & I can't wait! 😩 good luck with everything! Also, being in education, I've found that renting some books is cool, but some books you may want to keep bc they will come in handy when you're actually in the field!
@theredheadchic, hey girl!!!! I'm major in Elementary Education. Then I'm going to go back for a Masters in Academic Counseling 😊
@blue_87, thank you so much😄 you are helping so much!!!!! 💜💜💜
DO NOT drop any classes! Unless u r at the deadline & ur instructor has told u it would be best for u to. Stick with it! Dropping classes is a waste of time & money! Also, manage your time wisely ...you'll be fine! What are u majoring in?
Just google rent books and a bunch of site will pop up. I always find the site that has the book for the cheapest price and go with them all the site work the same way. So it's really just a matter of what you need. I like Chegg.com that's where I get my books from. Best of luck. You're gonna have so much fun. I love being a college student. Oh and one last tip go to ratemyprofessor.com and check out your teachers that way you'll have an idea of what kind of atmosphere your walking into. @mamabear01
@paisleysmama0216, @blue_87 @momofroyalty thank you all do much!!! 💜 I'm very nervous and my son is 4 months and I'm going to be going to school full time. I have to make sacrifices for my family! thank you all
Buy used books if you can! Try to do your best in your classes so you don't retake them... bill racks up like crazy. Def have a planner, can't tell you how many times I've forgotten stuff with so much on my mind! Also get into a morning routine, make sure you eat your breakfast and have time to do everything at an easy pace. I always brought snacks with me as well lol. Consult a counselor to guide you... I've taken unnecessary classes which caused me to use up my scholarship money quick and then I had to get a ridiculous school loan.
set your schedule and stick with it. also manage your time with your family and school work
Don't buy your books rent them, and if you can wait until the first day do, to see if you'll even need the books the professor has marked for their class. Depending on when your classes are take some kind of snack that's easy to eat in between classes don't waste your money on the food or snacked there the prices are completely jacked way up. Have a notebook and folder for each class and buy a planner its was a life savor for me so I could remember when all my assignments were due. For my self I bought I cute little bag to carry all my pencils and pens, white-out, a tiny stapler, highlights and a permanent maker.
Maximize nap time ! And a good morning schedule helps a ton ! My daughter usually doesn't wake till 8 but I'm up at 6am every day so I can pump eat breakfast and get my day started before sunshine wakes up
