I don't like when moms shame other moms for leaving their kids with family or babysitters to go do other stuff. I don't understand what the big deal is if they are being responsible. My mom has already volunteered to watch our son when we are ready so my husband and I can continue our Thursday date nights. Yes we are mothers but we are still human beings that need to socialize and stimulate our minds. Just random thought because of the negativity I've seen on my fb lately. Oh well I guess they will be talking about me soon too!

Agreed, my husband and I are young parents and we still want to have a couple of dates. My parents already agreed on taking care of the baby cause they know we are young and they don't want us to just think that just because we had a child that our lives are over

@flower_princess, I agree and honestly it doesn't matter what your age is. Everyone needs time for their significant other and for friends. You can't neglect all your relationships and then expect them to still be their when you need them. My family grew up with the mentality of it takes a village to raise a child. Please try to put that nonsense in my head too and I refuse to listen to it. Yes life with change dramatically but your "life is not over" unless you let it be.

your supposed to have time to yourself. I do not take my kids everywhere with me and you guys are supposed to still have a date night if you don't have your time your relationship would be crazy......I can understand if your that parent that's out at the club Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, or someone else is raising your kid while you continue to have children then have something to say

@cp, lol yes! I may go out once every 2 weeks. daddy can stay home and watch the baby.
it does take a village to raise one. my mom had 7 kids and some of us have kids of our own, so we all babysit for each other . my family IS the village

somewhere in KY there is a family with like 15 kids, and they have like 3 each and those kids have kids . 4 generations.

@blessedmom, you make it work! That's what matters. I have no idea how my son will be we may not be able to leave him with anyone for a while but I wouldn't think that other moms are bad moms because they can. Date night maybe pizza and a redbox on the couch after little one is asleep for a while lol I just want to make the conscience effort to make sure our relationship doesn't suffer but I know I'm going to have to take everything day by day.

@cp, @momma_beffers completely agree! My family is the same way! I've been in the rotation of watching my nephews over the summer. To many people available who want to spend quality time with them to waste the money on daycare

My Mom watches my daughter frequently, even when i'm not doing anything my Mom offers to take my daughter because she wants to have a bond with her. They are practically attached at the hip they love each other so much. How else are children supposed to build relationships with their family if they don't see them? If my Mom takes her I use the time to run errands, clean the entire house without a small tornado running around behind me making things a mess again. Also, Mommy and Daddy need date nights, and time alone, and nobody should make you feel bad about that. Raising kids is hard, and sometimes you need help.
