@najahlove, well I was working for a while when I was pregnant. I think I was 22 weeks and had to leave my job because no matter how often I begged for hours they'd only allow me to work up to 12 hours a week and it was a union job so I was only getting like $15 a week after taxes and union dues were deducted. I decided it wasn't worth the time and energy I put into the job if I could barely fill my gas tank and pay what little bills I had at the time. I'm currently living with my parents and moved in with them while I was pregnant so it's a blessing that I don't have bills now! I was a full time student at the time too so you can probably imagine how stressed I was trying to work full time, being a full time student, and being pregnant. I'm taking a semester off (fall) to be home with my son. I can't work at this point because I don't have anyone to watch my son and there is no daycare option where I live (not that I would put my son in daycare--I have huge trust issues when it comes to my son). So long story short, I'm broke because I have no job and I can't get a job because I have to take care of my son.

@jaspersmama I'm new to the site...why broke? Did you have to leave a job when baby came? I'm asking because I'm thinking I'll be at zero income for however long I take maternity leave and finding a new gig/income stream. Planning to save to cover a few necessities--none of which involve baby stuff. Yikes!
